Home Alone

Well, I'm not technically alone. I have an 8 week old non-talking infant who only eats and sleeps. Not much social interaction for me.

Our planned trip to Greenville was this weekend. We were going to leave this morning and stay through Sunday afternoon.

Because Noah's sleep schedule got so off track this past week and it was impossible for me to correct with his noisy sister around, we decided it was best if Sean and Erin went to Greenville and I stayed home with Noah to get him well rested again. Everyone benefits except me, but oh well, I'm a parent. And that's life.

My plan for these couple of days is to hold him for all his naps to be sure he sleeps as long as he needs to, and then Sunday night we start the dreaded "sleep training." We have to allow him to learn to fall asleep on his own. We didn't do this with Erin until she was around 5 months old, and we don't want to wait that long this time.

And although it's been pretty lonely around here all day (and will be for two more days), here are some wonderful side benefits:

1. it's QUIET.
2. I have control over the TV again.
3. I can clean up the house and it STAYS that way.

I love and miss my two year old terribly, but it's so much more hectic when she's around.

I miss you and Noah, too. Was really sad to know you weren't coming, but I understand.

Enjoy your quiet time!

Love,
