Erin and I went shopping at Target yesterday for some more winter clothes. As I was picking things out for her, I took her down from the cart to see if some pants were a good length. Of course she didn't want to get back in the cart after that. I let her run around for a bit, but I could only say "get back over here" so many times before I started becoming that mom in the store with the uncontrollable toddler.
So as I put her back in the cart seat, of course she started crying loudly. I was about 95% done looking and I wanted my extra few minutes. I was going to just ignore her and try to hurry, but I was able to find a very unlikely diversion that ceased the crying: a grasshopper on one of the hangers on display. Thanks grasshopper for being interesting to my daughter.
And speaking of crying - a shopping trip for clothes, formula and 3 boxes of diapers for two kids will be painful at the register.
