Out for a Sunday Drive

I've always wanted to pick a car at random and just follow it to see where they end up. Where are they going? How far would I get from home...5 miles or into the next state? So today we did something similar to that, but modified from following just one car till the end.

We decided to follow 5 cars for 3 turns each and see where we end up (we actually did 8). We had a couple guidelines to help us not get 100 miles from home: 1. we don't follow anyone on to the interstate and 2. we have a 10 minute time limit on each car.

It turned out to be quite fun, here's what happened:

Car 1 (1:47pm)
Got behind them coming off our street onto the main road.
They just about immediately turned into the Arby's drive thru

Car 2 (1:50pm)
Followed them for 3 turns.
They ended up in a subdivision (we assumed they were going home)

Car 3 (2:02pm)
We followed this car for 3 turns and ended up around the mall.
But they kept driving, so we don't know their destination

Car 4 (2:07pm)
3 turns took them to Target.

Car 5 (2:12pm)
After the first turn we were headed right by a prison.
She slowed down a couple times before turning by a sign that said "Sheriffs Intake Center."
We didn't take that turn with her :) we just kept driving.
However, we saw her turn around. So maybe she was lost.

We kept driving and decided to do a few more cars. Saw some nice scenery along the way.

Car 6 (2:25pm)
3 turns took us back near the mall, but they kept going so we had to move on to the next car.

Car 7 (2:33pm)
They turned off the main road onto a back road.
They were driving very fast and then someone got in front of us, so we lost them.

Car 8 (2:36pm)
They were still driving after the 3rd turn, so that was it.
But along the way, we saw a nice park with a playground that we decided to go back to.

We didn't stay at the park long because the sun was beating down with 90+ degree heat. But Erin enjoyed the creek and spending a few minutes on the swings.

This concluded our Knoxville adventures! We ended up only 7 miles from home and not lost at all.
