Had a pretty low key weekend. We went to a birthday/pool party yesterday afternoon for a little girl turning 3. It was a great day to be outside. Erin had fun in the pool with her daddy. She's a pretty good swimmer already - she kicks her feet.
Had a pretty low key weekend. We went to a birthday/pool party yesterday afternoon for a little girl turning 3. It was a great day to be outside. Erin had fun in the pool with her daddy. She's a pretty good swimmer already - she kicks her feet. Today was pretty mellow because I wasn't feeling well for most of it. But this evening, we went out and purchased a portable dishwasher. We found one marked down at Best Buy.
We just got really tired of spending an hour or more doing dishes each night (hour and a half to two hours if we skip a day). And life's too short to have it sucked away by doing the dishes! Some evenings that's all I have time to do. It's just not cool.
Okay, one more comment about the pacifier subject. First of all, let me just say that it is ancient history! Gone forever! And the thing about it is, she is sleeping so much better without it. After she goes to bed, we don't hear anything until 5 or 6am. We used to hear her a little in the late evening, and then have to go in and change her around 2 or 3am. Now I don't hear anything from her and she's waking up in a much better mood. It makes us wish we had done it sooner.
Oh, and I added several words to her first word list. Obviously some of the words she doesn't say crystal clear (like glasses and scissors), but it sounds close and we know she's referring to that object.
Time now to go relax a little before the weekend is over.

I also really like the fact that "shoe" and "moo" don't rhyme (say "Shamoo" as two separate words, and that's just about it). But shoe's getting closer to right every day.
