Duck!....No, Erin, That's a Blue Bird

Erin has both top teeth coming in now, and possibly one to the right of the top teeth. So she's had her moments of fussiness this week as well as waking up after bedtime and early in the morning (like 4 or 4:30). I've also had trouble getting her to nap again, especially in the morning. So the teething is not fun, but from what I hear from other moms, it could be a lot worse.

I'm surprised Erin hasn't said any new words. She's working on fish and possibly dog. Dog comes out as "dee," I think it's because we always say doggy, and she's taking the "d" and "y" and putting them together. But that's just my guess.

She's also pretty liberal with her use of the word duck. Anything that remotely looks like a duck is a duck...a chicken, a bird, a yellow lion. But my favorite "duck" is the bowl of porridge in the three bears story. Picture the inside of the bowl from an angle - a yellow oval. Then, there is a thick white line doing a curly cue which is the steam coming out of it. The steam makes the duck's neck, head and bill. Creative child.

No big plans for this weekend, but we are looking forward to our 4th of July cookout next weekend. We'll also have some guests staying with us - Brian & Nicole and Andy & Lori Fleming. So there's that to look forward to.
