I am now an Assistant Organizer of one of our playgroups (we go to three). I usually find it more fun to organize an event than to actually go to it (that's mostly not true). So anyway, my second event was today - the first got rained out, it was at a park - we went to the E. Tennessee Discovery Center. I found out from another mom that this is a typical elementary school field-trip location (no big surprise) and it looked like it had been around for quite a while. Not the most dazzling place, but it was a lot of fun.
There was a small planetarium, we were able to catch the show. A bit underwhelming. The guy lit up the "sky" with the stars and then pointed out constellations and told us the story of one of them. I thought it would be more exciting lights for Erin to look at. But since it wasn't, of course she started getting fidgety during the middle of it. She never got so bad that I had to leave, but I did have to endure about 10 minutes of a not so nice smell coming from her diaper.
