Happy Labor Day

Mmmm, puppy.

Had a very good weekend. It was nice visiting with the in-laws. Yesterday, we took about a 30 minute drive to Norris Damn State Park. We took a picnic lunch, but decided against the 2 mile hike we planned because 95 degrees was just a little too hot. Call us babies, but we literally had a baby with us, so there.

So instead of hiking, we took a nice scenic drive. It was nice and peaceful, especially since Erin finally fell asleep.

Rewinding to Saturday, our night out alone was great. We went to Puleo's Grill and had a wonderful meal. Then, just to stay out longer and walk around, we went to the mall. I know, not very romantic or exciting, but we did have fun. By the time 9 came around, we were tired and ready to head home. I think we were in bed by 10:30 (man, are we party animals...)

Tonight we are going to head out and see some Labor Day fireworks*. We have our regular out-of-the-way spot that we go to. That way we don't have to fight with parking and crowds. It's a lot nicer that way.

By the way, my parents were married on Labor Day 37 years ago. So happy anniversary! (not till the 6th, though)

*just discovered that they had the big fireworks show last night...oops
