I've been asked by my significant other not to reveal anything specific about his job search until it's all said and done (we don't want any potential employers to find a trail to this blog)...so I can't reveal my current vacationing spot.
My husband's at his interview, my kids are with my in-laws and I have a day all to myself to explore in a new city.
My morning was spent sleeping in until 8am (woohoo...sleeping in without a little girl jumping on my head and a baby cooing in his crib on the monitor). My first stop was at the Mad Hatter Cafe where I enjoyed a tasty brunch of a toasted croissant (I spelled that right the first time!) sandwich and a tall mocha.
Then on to the life science museum. I had a good time walking around by myself (I learned that dust mites - like the ones in pillows and mattresses - are bigger than I thought, you can see them with the naked eye...gross) and then meandering to their outside exhibits including a butterfly house. But it also made me sad to be there alone. It was a perfect museum for young children and I know Erin would have LOVED it. There were kids everywhere and it really made me miss my own kids.
After that I had lunch at a local diner. I sat at the counter and listed to the conversations around me.
Now I'm back at the hotel for a little down time - maybe an uninterrupted nap - and then off to pick up Sean.
It's nice to have a day for myself...I certainly NEVER get that at home...

mmm....I know where you are....
hmm.... I think I do, too! :)
ya'll need to email me to see if you're right...
I'm pretty sure I know where you were for your mystery location too...
Wow, I guess I wasn't very secretive. I shouldn't have given a specific name of a restaurant. Oh well. At this point I don't think it matters too much.
We should know the final verdict very soon....
We are also huge fans of that particular cafe where you ate. Here's hoping the lunchtime locale shared a name with a Sesame Street character.
Also, great museum!
I know where you were!
