I think the groundhog got it right

I'm so happy it's warming up outside, at least for now, so that I can get out with the kids again. Last summer I was at the end of my pregnancy, then we had a newborn and it was brutally hot outside. Then of course winter. So I feel like we've been stuck inside for about the past 6 or 7 months. Sean has been working on his dissertation on Saturdays for awhile, so that adds to us staying at home.

But this spring and summer should be a lot of fun. Erin is completely independent on a playground now, and Noah is also getting more mobile.

In my last couple of posts I talked about traveling with Sean for some of his interviews. If you read the comments on the "Mystery Location," it looks like I didn't cover my tracks very well. I think I'm okay to reveal that we were in Durham, NC. It really was nice to have a whole day to myself.

From there we spent a couple of days with my parents. I'll actually be going back there next week to leave Sean at home to work hard on his dissertation (kids can be quite a distraction when you're trying to write a book in less than a year).

**

For now I'm just waiting for Erin to get up from her nap, then I'm going to take them out to the park. Seems like forever since we've done that. It's 70 degrees outside!!

I love keeping up with your blog, your children are absoultely adorable. I'm friends with Stephen and Laura Oliver and saw your blog on their sidebar. I hope you don't mind me commenting. I saw your post about being in Durham, NC. I have to say that we live there and we love it here!! We have 2 young kids and there is tons to do, people are fairly friendly and the weather isn't too bad. And the museum is WONDERFUL!!! Memberships are very affordable too! :) Just wanted to let you know that we love it here and if this is your final destination, maybe we can get our families together.

I'm hoping that the place you had lunch was Elmo's Diner. There is no where else like it that we've ever found. It's a wonderful place to people watch, and a great place to feed a family, too. We lived in Durham 11 years, the last 3 on Ninth Street (which is the best address to have if you need to give anyone direcitons.) We'll hope you get to land there.
PS if you go -- DO NOT let anyone tell you that you need to live in Cary. Enjoy the funkiness and imperfection that is Durham.
PPS: Dark Blue, not light blue. It's important.

Kylie,

Of course I don't mind you commenting! Good to hear from you. Do you have a blog?

I can't say one way or the other about Durham, but I think that VERY soon I'll be able to post where we'll be moving to. So stay tuned!
