Miss Manners

Frequently when Erin is told no, she'll throw a minor fit to try to get what she wants. Lately we've been really getting on her about not whining or getting upset, but asking more politely to get what she's asking for. We explained that she might end up getting it if she asks nice instead of crying and stomping her feet.

So today we're in the car heading home. A really good song comes on the radio just as she asks to hear the Muffin Man (that's the first track on her cd). I say no, that I want to hear this song.

Then she - oh so politely - says "Mommy, can I listen to the muffin man please?"

How could I say no to that?

I may have missed the song I wanted to listen to, but this means that she actually does hear what we tell her...
