Most of our recent Saturdays have been Sean working on school work and me and the kids stuck in the house because it's cold and we have nowhere to go (all of our regular activities - like storytimes - are during the week). So when the high yesterday was going to be around 60, we took an afternoon trip about a half hour north and went on an easy hiking trail at Big Ridge State Park (which we had never been to before).
We ended up being gone for about 5 hours including stopping for dinner. Both kids did excellent. Neither one gave us any meltdowns, which made things easier.
I can't wait for things to warm up and we can get back outside regularly again. Here are more photos from the hike.
