Trial and Error

Since the time change 6 weeks ago, Noah has been ready to go t0 bed by 6pm and has been waking up anytime between 5 and 6am (mostly 5 to 5:30). We haven't been able to budge this.

We've read in many, many places that if you want your baby to sleep longer in the morning, you need to put them to bed earlier. Babies don't follow normal adult rules on sleep. So we tried putting him to bed even earlier than 6, but it did not work well at all.

Next we wanted to try putting him to bed later, but that's been hard since he turns into a pumpkin at the stroke of 6; rubbing his eyes and being very fussy. But we finally pushed him only 15 minutes later, despite the pleas to go to bed.

It's too soon to make final judgments, but for two mornings now, he has slept till 7!

How can 15 to 20 minutes at night cause him to sleep an hour and a half to 2 hours later in the morning. Who knew?

I hope he keeps it up!
