Sleeping • Eating • Partying

Noah is doing GREAT falling asleep on his own. It's only been a few days, but for his naps and bedtime, I only get about 5 to 10 minutes of crying (bedtime is usually pretty minimal). And a few naps have been longer than usual, but most are still under an hour. One step at a time, I guess.

I mentioned after his 4 month checkup that I was going to start giving him solid food. Well after about 3 days I realized he wasn't ready just yet. Most of the food was just being pushed right out of his mouth.

So I waited a few weeks and tried again a couple days ago. He is drastically better and actually getting the food down. I've given him oatmeal cereal and pureed banana. With the first bite he makes a yucky face, but I think it's just the texture. After that he gladly opens his mouth for more. It'll be fun to move on to more exciting fruits and veggies.

We have a full week of Halloween activities ahead of us. My parents will be here from Friday until Sunday afternoon, so they get to watch Erin dress up about 3 or so times. Here's what we've got planned:

Wednesday: Mommy & Me playgroup party
Thursday: Books and Blooms (Halloween theme of course) at UT Botanical Gardens
Thursday evening: Healthy Families Fall Festival
Friday evening: Boo at the Zoo (Noah will stay home for this b/c of his bedtime)
Saturday morning: pumpkin carving and making pumpkin muffins at home
Saturday afternoon: Trick or Trees at UT Gardens
Saturday evening: 5pm Church with Trunk or Treat afterwards

Is that enough or should we cram in some more? I guess the funny thing is we don't have anything planned on actual Halloween.
