Oh man! I missed my chance for a photo of him today. I totally forgot. I guess that's what happens to you when you're the third child.
Luke is 12 pounds 2 oz and a little over 22 inches tall. The doctor says he's doing great.
I haven't written much about my experiences breastfeeding him, but unfortunately he's on formula now. It's a long complicated story of pain and misery (for me, not him) and I'm not sure that I want to bore anyone with the details. The short, short version:
Part 1: 2 weeks of pain and soreness from adjusting to nursing again
Part 2: Candida (yeast) infection - sharp, burning pain while nursing
(prescription cream doesn't budge yeast, decide to switch to formula)
Part 3: Mastitis (breast infection) - can't nurse b/c it's unbearably painful; red, swollen breast tissue about the size of my cell phone; antibiotics are slowly getting rid of it now.
Oh what fun the past 9 weeks have been.
But seriously, aside from our breastfeeding issues, he's a pretty good son :)
