Heading Home

It's amazing how fast this trip went by. I can't believe we'll be packing up and driving home tomorrow. Erin did great on the car ride over and has loved staying with "papa" and "papa" (she currently has the same word for Grandma and Grandpa). She has been full of energy and laughs the whole time. I really think she likes it here, especially with so much new stuff to poke around in.

She is also continuing to expand her vocabulary. I can't even really keep up with it to add each word to the list on the side bar. From what I can remember, here are some additions from the weekend: Cheerios, dirty, cock-a-doodle-do, thank you, please, gnome, and beard. There were probably others. Her words are just exploding, it's very exciting.

Saturday night I went out downtown with Brian and Nicole to celebrate my birthday (this Tuesday). We hung out at Barley's - which I haven't been to in a long time - and met up with a few other people. It was a fun evening. I don't often get to enjoy a night out by myself without husband and child. I wouldn't trade those two for anything in the world, but sometimes a wife/mom needs some time out for herself. It was nice.

I think Erin will be very happy to see her daddy tomorrow. We Skyped with him this evening and as we hung up and left the room, she was reaching towards the computer saying "daddy" and starting to cry just a bit. It was almost bedtime and she was tired, but I know she does miss him.
