Today's Field Trip to the Mountains

Something's not quite right with Erin since yesterday. I have to assume it's teething because I can't think of anything else to blame. Yesterday morning she woke up screaming and didn't even want me to pick her up. She was fine after her morning nap, but then was also very fussy around bedtime. This morning she has continued to be an unhappy camper. She just burst into tears randomly for no reason.

She already has two bottom teeth that didn't bother her this much. Maybe the top two are coming down and they hurt more. I hate this teething stuff because nothing is certain until you see a tooth. And then you finally know the reason for the latest fussiness.

Well, hopefully our hike in the mountains today will cheer her up (she loves being outside). We're leaving in a little bit and I think it will do us all some good. One of us is cranky. One of us has tons and tons of summer reading to do for school. And the other has to care for a one year old during the day and then crams daily housework and other things that need to get done (and any personal time) into 7 through 10pm.

I'm not complaining, life is great. But it will be nice to breathe some fresh mountain air.
