One of our stops was at a botanical garden in Alabama. It wasn't very colorful, being winter and all, but it was good to stretch our legs and we got lots of good photos. The section we walked around in was a Japanese garden. Here are some photos:

The Ride Over
We made it alive. The drive actually went very, very well. We left Knoxville around 5:30am and arrived at Alex's around 4am. We originally planned on stopping overnight at a hotel, but instead we just kept plugging along so that we could get a big chunk of driving done after Erin's bedtime instead of making a second day out of it. It worked out great and she did really wonderful during the day (much better than we had hoped for). It helped that we took 3 long breaks along the way.
