...I'll be 30. Goodbye 20's, you were fun.
On the menu for tonight was to make a pizza at home, but we decided to go out for my birthday instead. This was actually our first time taking Erin to a restaurant where we would have a waiter.
If it were just the two of us, we probably would have gone somewhere fancier, maybe something Italian. But with a 4 month old, it needed to be a little more kid-friendly (but a step higher than say Ci-Ci's). So I picked Applebees. Not the most original chain restaurant, but I've never been disappointed in their food.
Tonight was no exception. And I was very pleased to see they have single serving desserts. Most places these days only serve desserts that are huge and triple your dinner's calories.
Two months ago, we never would have dreamed of taking Erin to a sit down place. But she did very well tonight, only got mildly fussy towards the end. And that was only because we had kept her awake for too long.
Most of the time she just sat in my lap and either looked around at nearby people or longed to put my food (fork, glass, napkin, plate, etc.) in her mouth. We got a few "aw, look at the cute (tiny) baby!" but I'm not fully tired of that yet, so it's okay. People really do love babies.
I've had a great birthday weekend so far. We could have spent the weekend camping with friends we don't see often (and my bro & sis-in-law), but things get limited with a small person who just has to follow you everywhere.
And even though I would have loved to have gone camping, it doesn't matter cause I have my favorite people with me anyway.
