The Child Is A Weed

Wow, in comparing these two photos, I can't believe she looks this much older in only two weeks. They say "they grow fast" and it really is the truth.

Well, today was our first afternoon out with her, and it was very successful. Before now, she had only seen the inside of the hospital, our house, the car and the doctor's office. We ventured out this afternoon to get our free McDonalds chicken sandwich with a purchase of a drink. We took a chance on bringing her inside (with her crying she feels like a ticking time bomb), and we luckily got her awake and not crying the entire time. She was even admired by about 5 employees behind the counter. They agree with us on how cute she is.

After that, we pushed our luck and went to a Catholic bookstore to pick out her baptism gift (a rosary w/ silver box) and she was conked out the whole time. Again, her cuteness and smallness was admired by the nice sales lady.

Then, we took a short trip to the library to look for music cd's, and she still remained asleep. So considering how much she can cry at home, we were very pleased to have a nice, quiet afternoon out - with all three of us.

In addition to her being so good today, we also had a very good night last night. She only cried for a short while around 3am, but she was getting hungry. We were able to have a 3 and a half hour gap between feedings (which she was asleep for instead of crying hysterically). I think we are slowly turning the tables to being more awake during the day and sleepier at night (yay!).

Not this weekend but next weekend (24th), we are taking our first long trip with her. We will head to Greenville to see Brian & Nicole and my parents. B&N are moving to Greenville from Charleston, and they will be moving their stuff. It will be the first time they get to meet her, which I'm glad they didn't have to wait until she was 2 months (for the baptism) considering how fast she's growing! So I am definitely looking forward to that.

Okay, I think it's time - once again - to feed my child. Being a human dairy bar is exhausting and very time consuming.

glad things are starting to go better! I'd love to meet her next weekend when you're here if there is time.
