I got lots of great gifts, mostly clothes. I think that's because they are the most fun to buy. I think by the time she arrives, she'll be a well dressed little girl.
In addition to chatting, eating good food and opening gifts, we also played a few baby games (no, we didn't play Pin the Tail on the Baby). My favorite was a multiple choice quiz on Baby Cheryl. My mom had previously been asked 14 questions about me as a baby. The one who got the most questions right won the game. For some reason I was allowed to play, and I won (as I should have, I suppose). However, I didn't even get them all right, only 10 out of 14. I didn't know my favorite TV show (Sesame St), that I thought boys were more fun than girls (as opposed to "eew, gross"), I was most afraid of being left at home with the babysitter (I answered "the dark," which was true, but a trick question because that wasn't when I was a baby), and my favorite story (my mom answered Winnie the Pooh, but even she admitted to not really know a story that stood out above the rest).
The shower lasted about 3 hours or so. After packing up the car we took a leisurely drive back to my parent's house. It was a beautiful day in the mid-60's. Couldn't really ask for better on the first of March.
Other events of the weekend included putting the Tracker on Criag's List. We posted it Saturday at almost 10pm, and had 5 or 6 interested buyers on Sunday. We had a couple of them test drive it, but ultimately found the right buyer who was going to pick it up today. I haven't gotten the official word from my dad that he followed through, but he was specifically looking for a 2 wheel drive tracker, so I would be surprised if he backed out. The best part is we really got A LOT more for it than I thought we could. Unfortunately, it has to be spent on a year's worth of health insurance rather than something fun like ice cream and shoes.
